Research: Distribution Companies

When looking at creating a social realism film we needed to look into distribution companies that are available. I have done research into two different ones.




DreamWorks- owned by Viacom
Founded in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffery Katzenberg and David Geffen

Mainly focus on cartoon personifications of animals
A large Hollywood company with a huge profit





Film4- owned by Channel Four
Started in 1982
Supports independent film makers
Fund about 20 films each year
Based in the UK and Ireland
